This January, Don Schagen, supervisor at the Lebanon Wastewater Treatment Plant, was honored at the New England Water Environment Association awards luncheon. Schagen was selected as a 2011 Regional EPA Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator Award recipient. He was nominated by the N.H. Department of Environmental Services in recognition of his “outstanding work over the years” operating and maintaining the Lebanon Wastewater Treatment Plant.
Schagen's “award and acknowledgement from the EPA is extremely well-deserved,” states Mark Spinale, acting manager of the EPA‟s Municipal Assistance Unit.
Lebanon DPW Director Mike Lavalla says he appreciates Schagen's dedication to the City. “Don is a valuable asset to the Department of Public Works and this community.” Schagen has worked for the City since 1988 and has been a supervisor at the plant since 1998.
The Lebanon Wastewater Treatment Plant has been a past National EPA Operations and Maintenance Excellence Award Recipient.
