Below you will find links to a variety of public works projects in progress around the City. While most projects are City managed, others are being done by the State of New Hampshire. If you would like additional information about a City project or need to know the best point of contact for a State project, please contact the Department of Public Works at 603-448-3112.
One major type of on-going construction, and the reason you see streets around the City undergoing a transformation, is that of our Combined Sewer Overflow (CSO) projects.
Current CSO Projects:
As required by the US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and the New Hampshire Department of Environmental Services (DES), the City is implementing the elimination of our CSO’s by separating the sanitary wastewater system from the storm water system under a schedule which will have all CSO’s eliminated by 2020. The City is incorporating this work into other infrastructure projects in order to cost effectively address the City’s needs for the future.
